Poems
Take a look below at some of the poems I have written.
Antenna Towers (I Miss You...)
Don’t look, the screen is a window into a world of violence and hypocrisy.

I turn
frenzied in half-sleep. As the floorboard creaks and shapes
pass lamely beneath the door. A room
with a bed and a television, saying my name.
The room bathes in a distant orange from the light behind the door
but the television casts a pale, changing shadow across to the drawn curtains.
I glimpse faces, places half-forgotten, on screen, flashing in beautiful colours.
Followed by images of the smiliest lying mouths; then mothers clutching babies
They pick through the rubble, and pull out their hair.
Outside: antenna towers stretching upwards against a cracked sky,
I cradle my tears and curl with your love. The world turns over in its sleep.
O! if I could once again lay my head amongst your curves...
Masks
Oh, I bet you thought you were so clever
You pet my dogs but you don’t not me!
Ask for my permission first
You sneak into my forest but you
don’t know how to appreciate my trees
You steal my kill but you never
Learnt how to use a fork
You steal my oxygen from me more to come?
Do you know what I lost? desesperación
Do you know what I wanted?
Stop it with these cheap disappearing tricks mask on. mask off.
Pick a face
In the crowd and tell us what you see
Get inside and close the curtains!
they said
And just put on a movie of better times there were these two clowns...
This is not supposed to happen to us but to other people ...whirling ...whirling
A list of conversations that have been assessed as off limits;
double scoops for everyone!
A slow anticipation of the collapse of our pleasant but fragile constructions;
Denial and stunned silence. ...and telling tall tales
